New York City Department of Parks and Recreation

Selected Management Practices of the Capital Projects Program (Follow-Up Review)

In our initial audit report 2000-N-3, we examined the actions taken by the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation in identifying its capital improvements needs, and found that the Department did not have a formal system for identifying and prioritizing such needs. We also examined the Department’s monitoring of contractors on capital projects and found that certain improvements could be made. In our follow-up review, we found that some progress had been made in implementing the recommendations contained in our initial audit report, but additional improvements were needed.
