Central New York Regional Transportation Authority

Selected Financial Management and Operating Practices (Follow-Up Review)

The Central New York Regional Transportation Authority operates transportation services in the Syracuse area. In our prior audit report 2000-S-21, we examined the Authority’s purchasing practices and found that competition was not always sought when it was required and purchasing transactions were not always fully documented. We also examined the financial condition of the Authority’s Regional Transportation Center, and found that actions needed to be taken to address persistent operating losses. In our follow-up review, we found that some of the recommendations contained in our prior report had been implemented, but others had not been implemented.
