Tourism Promotion Program (Follow-Up Review)

The Department of Economic Development administers a program promoting tourism in New York State. As part of the program, the Department allocates matching funds to local not-for-profit tourism promotion agencies. In our prior audit report 98-S-42, we examined the Department’s allocation of these funds and found that improvements were needed in the allocation process and in the Department’s monitoring of fund use. In our follow-up review, we found that limited progress had been made in the implementation of our prior audit recommendations.
