Child and Adult Care Food Program (Follow-Up Review)

In the federally funded Child and Adult Care Food Program, which is administered in New York by the Department of Health, providers of meals to children or adults in day care or adult care settings are reimbursed by the Department. To qualify for reimbursement, the meals must be provided in accordance with guidelines intended to ensure that the meals are nutritious and safely prepared. In our prior audit report 2000-S-5, we examined the plan developed by the Department for implementing and monitoring the Program, and found that certain improvements could be made in the Department’s planning process. In our follow-up review, we found that the recommendation contained in our prior audit report had been implemented.
