Higher Education Services Corporation - Tuition Assistance Program

Art Institute of New York City

During the 1998-99 through 2000-2001 academic years, the Art Institute of New York City certified $2.9 million in Tuition Assistance Program awards. We disallowed $127,824 of these awards as well as $5,594 for awards that related to other academic years. The total $133,418 was disallowed because students were incorrectly certified as eligible for the awards. For example, some students received awards even though they did not maintain good academic standing, or did not meet New York State residency requirements.
