Higher Education Services Corporation - Tuition Assistance Program

Wood Tobe-Coburn School

During the 1997-98 through 1999-2000 academic years, the Wood Tobe-Coburn School certified $3.8 million in Tuition Assistance Program awards. We disallowed $108,247 of these awards as well as $4,753 for awards that related to other academic years. The total $113,000 was disallowed because students were incorrectly certified as eligible for the awards. These students received awards even though they were not in full-time attendance. We also identified certain control weaknesses that needed to be addressed by officials of the Wood Tobe-Coburn School.
