College of Optometry: Selected Financial Management Practices The College of Optometry operates an on-campus clinic with 46 satellite locations throughout the metropolitan New York City area. We examined the controls over revenue from clinic operations and found that a number of improvements were needed. For example, much of the revenue due from clinic services was not collected in a timely manner and unpaid amounts were not aggressively pursued. Services also continued to be provided to patients with large unpaid balances. We also examined controls over the College’s equipment inventory and time and attendance practices. We found that a number of these controls also needed to be strengthened.
