Edgecombe Correctional Facility: Selected Payroll Practices We examined selected payroll practices at Edgecombe Correctional Facility and found that the controls over these practices needed to be improved. For example, employee time cards were not always accurate or properly maintained, the need for overtime and the accuracy of overtime payments were not verified, and absences due to military leave were not documented as required. We recommended that certain controls relating to these practices be strengthened.
