College at Cortland: Selected Financial Management Practices (Follow-Up Review)

In our prior audit report 99-S-13, we found that College managers had not established a strong control environment for revenue and equipment. In particular, they had not implemented recommendations from prior audits, conducted formal risk assessments, developed appropriate control procedures, or provided adequate guidance to employees. We recommended that College officials take actions that would strengthen their system of internal control, and in our follow-up review, we found that the officials had made significant and commendable progress in implementing these recommendations.
