Homeless Housing Assistance Program (Follow-Up Review)

In the Homeless Housing Assistance Program, which is administered by the Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA), grants and loans are provided to not-for-profit organizations and local governments to acquire, construct or rehabilitate housing for homeless persons. In our prior audit report 98-S-54, we found that additional actions were needed if OTDA officials were to be assured that funded housing was in good condition and was used for the purposes intended, and that funds were provided to the areas with the greatest need for such housing. In our follow-up review, we found that our prior audit recommendations have generally been implemented.
