Office of the State Inspector General

Selected Operations

The Office of the State Inspector General investigates allegations of fraud, abuse and corruption in various State agencies. We examined selected operating practices of the Office and found that certain improvements are needed. For example, while the investigations we reviewed were generally documented in accordance with requirements, certain parts of the investigative process were not always completed within the required time frames. We also found that the accountability of Office operations would be improved if reports describing the operations (such as an annual report) were periodically issued by the Office. We further note that vehicles provided for the use of Office employees could be better controlled.
