There is no peak or off-peak restrictions between Albany and New York. The Albany- New York government Fare (FOGN) is valid any time on any trains except for the Lakeshore Limited, which is the train between New York and Chicago.

Current restrictions still apply for peak travel between 12:01 am – 8:59 am and 2 pm – 5:59 pm Monday through Friday for the Acela and Metroliner trains that operate between New York and Washington, DC. Regional Amtrak service is also available at the New York government fare.
