Retention Cash Payments for the 2006-07 Academic Year for GSEU Doctoral and Comprehensive College Graduate Programs

Purpose

To provide guidelines and processing procedures for cash payments.

Background

Pursuant to the 2003-2007 Memorandum of Understanding between the Graduate Student Employees Union (GSEU) and new and existing doctoral student employees (Article 5.13) and employees in graduate programs in SUNY comprehensive colleges (Article 5.14).

Affected Employees

New and existing doctoral student employees and employees in graduate programs in Bargaining Unit 28 at SUNY comprehensive colleges

Effective Date(s)

There will be four (4) payments for the 2006-07 academic year. Payments may be made in:

  • Pay Period 13, paychecks dated October 18, 2006
  • Pay Period 17, paychecks dated December 13, 2006
  • Pay Period 22, paychecks dated February 21, 2007
  • Pay Period 2, paychecks dated May 16, 2007

Eligibility Criteria

New and existing employees at campuses with doctoral programs and employees in graduate programs at SUNY comprehensive colleges in Bargaining Unit 28 may receive payments up to a maximum of four (4) times per year at the discretion of the Dean of the Graduate Students Department.

Agency Actions

Each campus must provide a doctoral cash payment roster listing employees in Empl ID order to SUNY Administration. Each comprehensive college must provide a roster of employees in graduate programs in Empl ID order to SUNY Administration. Payments on the Time Entry page should be submitted as follows:

Earnings Begin Date: 1st day of current pay period of appropriate pay dates
Earnings End Date: Same as Begin Date
Earn Code: DCP (For non-resident aliens, use XDP, YDP or ZDP)
Amount: Enter appropriate payment amount

Payroll Register & Employee's Paycheck/Advice

The Earn Code and payment amount will be displayed on the payroll register. The Earn Code description and payment amount will be displayed on the employee’s paycheck stub or direct deposit advice.
