Purpose

To provide agencies with information for the manual processing of the Ratification Bonus.

Affected Employees

Annual and hourly employees in Bargaining Unit TE with a title of Staff Nurse, Staff Nurse (hourly) or Nurse Practitioner

Background

Pursuant to the 2003-2007 Memorandum of Agreement between the City University of New York and NYSNA which calls for a Ratification Bonus.

Effective Date(s)

Ratification Bonus Payments may be processed for all eligible annual and hourly employees for Pay Period 26C, paychecks dated 3/29/07

Contract Provisions and Eligibility Criteria

An $800 retroactive Ratification Bonus payment is to be paid to all eligible annual employees who are Active or on a Paid Leave (SKL, WDL or MLS) on the ratification date of 12/8/06. Employees on Workers' Compensation Leave are eligible for payment upon return to work.

A Ratification Bonus payment is to be paid to all eligible hourly employees who were in Active status or on a Paid Leave (SKL, WDL or MLS) either on 12/8/06 or on any day during the week of 12/4/06 thru 12/8/06. The payment amount will be based on the number of hours worked during the previous twelve (12) months multiplied by the factor (.4379), not to exceed $800. For those employees on a Paid Leave of Absence, the employee must receive the higher amount of either $400 or the amount based on the calculation of hours multiplied by the factor (.4379), not to exceed $800.

Agency Actions

Agencies must submit the payment for the Ratification Bonus in the Time Entry page using the Earn Code RBP (Ratification Bonus Payment):

Earnings Begin Date: 12/8/06
Earnings End Date: 12/8/06
Earnings Code: RBP
Earnings Amount: Amount Due

Payroll Register and Employee’s Paycheck/Advice

The Earn Code RBP and the payment amount will be displayed on the payroll register. The earnings description “Ratification Bonus Payment” and the amount will appear on the paycheck stub or direct deposit advice statement.
