To explain the process for entering deduction codes 443 and 445 for 2001

OSC Automatic Processing

OSC has inserted an end date on the general deduction table if none was previously entered by the agencies, for all employees with a deduction code of 443 or 445. This action prevents the deduction from restarting automatically for calendar year 2001.

Agency Actions

At the start of the year, agencies must reenter these deductions using the beginning of the period as an effective date. For Lag agencies the effective date is 12/14/2000 and for Current agencies the effective date is 12/28/2000. When entering deduction codes 443 or 445, also enter an end date on the panel. For Lag agencies the end date entered must be 12/12/2001 and for Current agencies the end date must be 12/26/2001. This action automatically end dates the transaction for the next calendar year. The end date must be entered even though a goal amount is also entered on the panel.
