Purpose

To inform agencies that position pools in PayServ may require updates for SFS lapsing.

Administration – 09/25/2013 & 10/09/2013

Background

Certain cost centers in SFS will be lapsing and will no longer be able for use in PayServ.

OSC Actions

OSC will provide weekly a spreadsheet of all current positions that are associated with a cost center that is scheduled to lapse on 9/16/2013 or 09/30/2013. A link will be posted on the PayServ bulletin board on a weekly basis as well as the OSC website.

Agency Actions

Agencies will have to ensure that any position pools that appear on the spreadsheet are updated with valid cost centers.

If the cost center is lapsing on 09/16/2013, agencies will need to insert a new row into PayServ with a valid cost center effective the beginning of the pay period for the following check dates (Institution – 09/19/2013 & Administration – 09/25/2013). These updates must be completed in PayServ by (Institution – 09/11/2013 & Administration – 09/18/2013) to ensure that the Payroll files can be successfully processed in SFS.

If the cost center is lapsing on 09/30/2013, agencies will to insert a new row in PayServ with a valid cost center effective the beginning of the pay period for the following check dates (Institution – 10/03/2013 & Administration – 10/09/2013). These updates must be completed in PayServ (Institution – 09/25/2013 & Administration – 10/02/2013) to ensure that the Payroll files can be successfully processed in SFS.
