Purpose
To inform agencies of changes to the data entry and processing of Rehire, Concurrent Hire, and Transfer transactions in PayServ as a result of SSN Decoupling
Affected Employees
Agencies entering Rehire, Concurrent Hire and Transfer transactions online/directly in PayServ
Effective Date(s)
Effective Tuesday, November 13, 2012, all Rehire, Concurrent Hire and Transfer transactions entered directly into PayServ will follow the procedures described in this Bulletin
Background
SSN Decoupling has resulted in changes to the Rehire, Concurrent Hire, and Transfer transactions in PayServ. These changes will limit access to the data displayed by these transactions to those PayServ users with a “need to know.”
OSC Actions
The online Rehire, Concurrent Hire, and Transfer transactions have been changed as follows:
- When the target employee has a National Id (Social Security Number), the Rehire, Concurrent Hire, and Transfer transactions will require a full 9-character Empl ID and a full 9-digit National ID to be entered by the online user.
- When the employee being Rehired, Concurrently Hired, or Transferred does not have a National ID in PayServ, the system will accept the full 9-character Empl ID for the search.
Agency Actions
Review the new procedures for Rehire, Concurrent Hire and Transfer transactions to ensure all users processing these transactions in PayServ understand the changes.
