Agency Return Address on Direct Deposit Advice Statements

Purpose

To notify agencies that the return address on all Direct Deposit Advice statements no longer will be the Office of the State Comptroller name and address.  The return address will be the employee’s agency name and payroll office address.

Affected Employees

All New York State employees who receive Direct Deposit Advice statements.

Effective Date(s)

Direct Deposit Advice statements dated February 15, 2007 (Institution).

Direct Deposit Advice statements dated February 21, 2007 (Administration).

Background

The return address on all Direct Deposit Advice statements currently prints:  “State of New York, Office of the State Comptroller, Albany, New York, 12236”.  The employee’s agency name and payroll office address will now be printed on all Direct Deposit Advice statements effective February 15, 2007 (Institution) and February 21, 2007 (Administration).

Note:  Payroll checks are not affected by this change.

Agency Action

The agency name and address printed on Direct Deposit Advice statements will be the same that is listed in the Control-D report NPAY529 (Agency W-2 Return Address Report).  Refer to Payroll Bulletin No. 691, dated January 4, 2007, for information on this report.
