The Office of the State Comptroller utilizes an internet-based Agency Financial Reporting Package application.
The State’s accounting and financial reporting system, under the control of the Office of the State Comptroller (OSC), provides for the collection, summarization and reporting of unique financial data and information maintained at State agencies. This financial information is required to ensure full and proper disclosure in financial statements prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
The Agency Financial Reporting Package has been developed for the purpose of gathering data-in-process which has not been entered into the State’s central accounting system by specified closing dates.
The application allows State agencies and public authorities to key necessary information directly on the Internet. The data will be collected in a database which will assist in the generation of the State’s required GAAP financial statements.
The internet-based application can be accessed at http://nysosc11.osc.state.ny.us/product/afrp.nsf.
A new section was added this fiscal year to capture Pollution Remediation Obligations for the new accounting policy.
