About Your Membership
If you work as a uniformed employee in an institution under the jurisdiction of the New York State Department of Correctional Services, or as a security hospital treatment assistant under the jurisdiction of the New York State Office of Mental Health, you are required to join this plan. When you become a Retirement System member, you must complete and file a membership application with the Office of the State Comptroller.
